CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
1. Ballet: This discipline of dance will be offered in two formats; Both of which will focus on terminology and technique.
A. Classical Ballet: This discipline is designed to build skills of balance, posture, technique and terminology; All themed to a classical collection of music; Terminology inclusive of French, Russian, Italian.
B. Modern/Contemporary Ballet: This discipline is designed to build skills of balance, posture, technique and terminology; Will include Lyrical and Contemporary styles and terminology.
C. Pointe: This discipline is designed for seasoned dancers whom have built skill in and balance including strength in the feet, ankles, legs. This style of dance will run parallel with Classical Ballet as well as Modern Ballet.
2. Tap: This discipline is designed to build skills of technique and terminology, strength and music timing; Students are encouraged and trained to make clear/crisp sounds while adding in their own personality and flair.
3. Jazz: This discipline is designed to build skills of technique, terminology and flexibility; Will include Broadway and Character styles
4. Modern/Contemporary: This discipline is designed to build skills of flexibility and technique; Students are encouraged tell a story through dance using movements of emotion; (Cross between Modern/Contemporary Ballet and Jazz).
5a. Hip Hop: This discipline is designed to build skills of body movement control and isolations; All energetic style themed to
up-to-date music as well as on the most sunning edge styles.
5b. Boys Hip Hop: Same as above.
6. Musical Theater: This discipline is designed to build skills of knowledge of stage directions; skills of basic acting/emotion (included in dance routine).
7a. Acro/Dance (Gymnastics): This discipline is designed to build skills of balance, flexibility and terminology; Variety of tumbling, stretching and balance skills incorporated based upon class level; Designed to master skills while continuing to develop them into the next level (Includes variety of mats, beam, trampoline).
7b. Private tumbling: Sessions for cheerleading available. (Back Hand Springs/Back Tucks)
8. Cheer/Dance: This discipline is designed to build skills in motion, technique, flexibility, tumbling, stunting and voice projection
9. Move with Me: This discipline is designed for the youngest students offered from ages 1-2; Designed to build skills in flexibility, hand-feet recognition and motor skills; All classes include a combination of dance, songs and stretching. These classes are shared with a parent
10. Pre-School Jams: This discipline is designed for students aged 2 to 3. Designed to build skills in flexibility, confidence and above all else FUN; All classes include a combination of dance and tumbling
11.Split/Combo (Level 1): This discipline is designed to build skills of balance, posture, technique and terminology; (Divisions in Ballet, Tap, Jazz) (Age 3-4)
12.Split/Combo (Level 2): This discipline is designed to build skills of balance, posture, technique and terminology; (Divisions in Ballet, Tap, Jazz) (Age 5-6)
13.Split/Combo (Level 3): This discipline is designed to build skills of balance, posture, technique and terminology; (Divisions in Ballet, Tap, Jazz) (Age 7)
SPECIALITIES:
1.Adult: Full hour class of Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop (Please see above description)
2.Zumba: This high energy class is designed to build body coordination and muscle strength; A great workout and a fun way to burn calories.
3.Senior Swing (Senior Citizens): This class is offered both on location or on-site; Designed to build skills in strength, movement and coordination; Fun and energetic setting designed to get your tow tapping no matter what your age.
4.Exceptional Talent (Special Needs): This class is offered both on location or on-site; Designed to build skills in strength, movement and coordination; Encouraged to have a 1:1 helper with each student for maximum benefit from class;

Summer Session Information:
OPDC will be offering a condensed Summer Session During July and August. The classes will go 4 weeks and will be great for those who want to try dance to see if they like it and it will also be good for our dancers to keep in mid season form. Please check the studio for updates and the times for each classes.
